Messaging By Status–Metrics and Data Definitions
There are multiple possible statuses for messages after they are sent.
- Queued for Send – Messages are sent to the carrier network for delivery.
- Sent to Mobile Device – Carrier network has sent the messages to mobile devices.
- Confirmed Delivered – Carrier network has confirmed that the messages were delivered.
- Failed to Send – Messages were not sent to the carrier network. This typically happens if the number is not valid.
- Confirmed Undelivered – Carrier network has confirmed that the messages were not successfully delivered to the mobile device. This can happen for a number of reasons: the message was sent to a landline, the mobile device is unreachable, or, in some cases, the sending number has exceeded its sending limit.
- Send Prevented – The content of the message did not make it through SlickText’s content filters. Prohibited content can be found here.
Note:
Message statuses change as the messages go through the delivery process, so charts that display message status can change significantly if messages have been recently sent.
