SlickText allows you to capture and store the preferred language of your contacts. You can enter a contact’s preferred language manually or upload it as part of a bulk import of contacts. Click here to learn more about adding contacts in SlickText.
To view or change a contact’s preferred language:
- Expand Audience on the left navigation bar, then choose Contacts.
- Click on a contact or click the three dots to the right of the contact and choose edit.
- Scroll down on the contact form until you see Language.
- Make any necessary changes. Click Save.
SlickText also uses AI to auto-detect a contact’s preferred language. If the contact’s current language is set to “None,” SlickText’s AI will read each message sent from a contact, attempt to determine the message’s language, and then update the language field on the contact record. If a contact clicks on a link you sent from SlickText, SlickText will attempt to determine a language preference by reading the preference set on the contact’s browser. SlickText will only update the field if it is currently set to “None.”
You can create a segment based on a contact’s language preference. Use the segment to send different messages based on a contact’s language.
