Before We Begin
Zapier is an automation platform with both free and paid plans that include a number of tasks per month. Each task (action) within a Zap will use a credit, so you’ll need to choose a plan that aligns with your expected usage.

Connecting Your SlickText Account to Zapier
In Zapier:
- Once you’ve created your free or paid Zapier account, create a new Zap or open an existing zap to edit.
- Add a step to your Zap and search for SlickText in the app browser.
- Choose SlickText
- Choose one of the available Actions.
- Click Sign In. A pop up window will appear asking for your SlickText API Key.
In SlickText:
- Log in to your account and launch the brand that you want to connect to Zapier.
- Click on your name in the bottom left corner and choose Settings.
- On the Settings page, select API & Webhooks.
- Click on API Keys.
- Create a new API key, then click on the pencil icon next to the name to name it Zapier, or whatever nickname you want to give it.
- Click on the 3 vertical dots next to the API key, then click Copy.
In Zapier
- Return to the Zapier Popup, paste your API key and click the button to continue.
- Follow the instructions below for Configuring a SlickText Trigger in Zapier or Configuring a SlickText Action in Zapier for additional guidance on configuring a Zap.
Configuring a SlickText Action in Zapier
- In Zapier, create a new Zap or open an existing zap to edit.
- Add a step to your Zap and search for SlickText in the app browser.
- Choose SlickText.
- Choose an Action event.
- Choose an Account. If you don’t see an account listed, follow the steps above under Connecting your SlickText Account to Zapier.
- Click Continue, then follow the additional instructions to configure the action.
Note:
If your action creates a contact in SlickText, a mobile phone number is required. If your action edits a contact or sends a message to a single contact, the SlickText Contact ID is required.

Create a contact in SlickText with an Opt-In status of "Not Subscribed." Contacts that are not subscribed cannot receive campaigns, workflow messages, or any other type of automated message triggered by you. They can only be texted via the inbox. |
