      Use Zapier to Integrate with Thousands of Applications

      Zapier is a powerful automation platform that enables users to connect thousands of apps, facilitating seamless data flow and task automation without the need for coding. By creating "Zaps," users can set up automated workflows where an event in one app triggers actions in another, streamlining repetitive tasks and enhancing productivity. When you connect SlickText to Zapier, you can create, subscribe, update, and delete contacts, as well as send messages to individual contacts and specified audiences.

      Before We Begin

      Zapier is an automation platform with both free and paid plans that include a number of tasks per month. Each task (action) within a Zap will use a credit, so you’ll need to choose a plan that aligns with your expected usage.

      Zap

      In Zapier, a Zap is an automated workflow that connects two or more apps to perform tasks automatically. It consists of two main components: A trigger and one or more actions.

      Trigger

      A Trigger is the event that initiates a Zap. In Zapier, this is either a connected app that has triggering capabilities or Webhooks by Zapier if catching a webhook is your Zap’s trigger.

      Action/Task

      Actions/tasks are steps in a Zap that follow the trigger.

      Connecting Your SlickText Account to Zapier


      In Zapier:

      1. Once you’ve created your free or paid Zapier account, create a new Zap or open an existing zap to edit.
      2. Add a step to your Zap and search for SlickText in the app browser. 
      3. Choose SlickText
      4. Choose one of the available Actions. 
      5. Click Sign In. A pop up window will appear asking for your SlickText API Key.

      In SlickText:

      1. Log in to your account and launch the brand that you want to connect to Zapier.
      2. Click on your name in the bottom left corner and choose Settings.
      3. On the Settings page, select API & Webhooks.
      4. Click on API Keys.
      5. Create a new API key, then click on the pencil icon next to the name to name it Zapier, or whatever nickname you want to give it.
      6. Click on the 3 vertical dots next to the API key, then click Copy.

      In Zapier

      1. Return to the Zapier Popup, paste your API key and click the button to continue. 
      2. Follow the instructions below for Configuring a SlickText Trigger in Zapier or Configuring a SlickText Action in Zapier for additional guidance on configuring a Zap.

      Configuring a SlickText Action in Zapier

      1. In Zapier, create a new Zap or open an existing zap to edit.
      2. Add a step to your Zap and search for SlickText in the app browser. 
      3. Choose SlickText.
      4. Choose an Action event.
      5. Choose an Account. If you don’t see an account listed, follow the steps above under Connecting your SlickText Account to Zapier.
      6. Click Continue, then follow the additional instructions to configure the action.

      Note:

      If your action creates a contact in SlickText, a mobile phone number is required. If your action edits a contact or sends a message to a single contact, the SlickText Contact ID is required.

      Create a Not Subscribed Contact

      Create a contact in SlickText with an Opt-In status of "Not Subscribed." Contacts that are not subscribed cannot receive campaigns, workflow messages, or any other type of automated message triggered by you. They can only be texted via the inbox.

      Create a Subscribed Contact

      Create a contact in SlickText with an Opt-In status of

      "Subscribed." Contacts that are subscribed can receive any type of text message from you. This includes campaigns, workflow messages, automated messages, and inbox texts.

      Delete Contact

      Deletes a contact in SlickText. Contact ID is a required field.

      Edit Contact

      Overwrites data on an existing contact in SlickText. Contact ID is a required field.

      Send a message to all contacts

      Sends a message to all contacts that are subscribed to your brand.

      Send Message to Contact

      Sends a message to a single contact. Contact ID is a required field.

      Send Message to List

      Sends a message to one or more lists of contacts that are subscribed to your brand.

      Send Message to Segment

      Sends a message to one or more segments of contacts that are subscribed to your brand.

      Find Contact

      Searches for a mobile number. If a contact is found, you can use data from your contact fields in additional actions within your Zap. You also have the option to create a contact if the provided mobile number is not a contact.
