SlickText’s Slack integration allows you to send a message to a public channel in a Slack workspace using SlickText’s Workflows. Once installed, the Send Slack Message workflow object will be available in your list of Actions when creating or editing a workflow.

Connecting your SlickText And Slack Accounts
Before you can send Slack messages using Workflows in SlickText, you’ll need to permit SlickText to access your Slack workspace. Here’s how:
- From the Dashboard, click on your name in the bottom left corner and choose Settings.
- On the Settings page, click on Integrations.
- Scroll through the list of integrations and click on Slack.
- In the top right corner of the page, click the Install button, then click Install again to confirm.
- You will be redirected to Slack. Follow the prompts to authenticate your account and complete the integration.
- A popup will appear saying the installation was successful.
Using the Send Slack Message Object in Workflows
Once the integration is installed, you can utilize the Send Slack Message Object in Workflows to send automated messages to a Slack channel. If you are not familiar with how to create a workflow, check out our article Getting Started with Workflows.
To add the Send Slack Message object to a workflow:
- From the left-hand navigation menu in SlickText, select Workflows.
- Choose the workflow you want to edit, or click Create Workflow to create a new workflow.
- Under [2] Build, select the Actions tab to reveal the list of Action objects.
- Scroll down until you find the Send Slack Message object and drag it over onto your workflow canvas.
- Connect another object to the Send Slack Message object
- Once you have added the object to your workflow, click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the object.
- Choose the Slack channel you want to send a message to.
- Create your message.
- Repeat steps 3-8 if you need to add more Send Slack Message objects to other branches within your workflow.
Note:
When creating your Slack message, click on the { } icon in the message toolbar to merge the contact’s name, phone number, or any other contact data into the Slack message to let the members of your Slack channel know which contact triggered the Slack message.
