Integrating SlickText with Meta

SlickText’s Meta integration enables new workflow actions that allow you to add contacts to and remove contacts from Meta custom audiences, giving you the ability to advertise and retarget contacts across Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Once installed, the Add Contact to Audience and Remove Contact from Audience workflow objects will be available in your list of Actions when creating or editing a workflow.

Before We Begin

Integrating SlickText and Meta requires that you have an active Meta ad account associated with a Business Page that has at least one custom audience.

A Meta ad account is a central tool used to create, manage, and pay for ads across Meta’s platforms. It is essentially your advertising profile within Meta’s business ecosystems.

A Meta custom audience is a targeted group of people you can create for your Facebook and Instagram advertising using data you already have—like customer email lists, website visitors, or app users. It allows you to reach people who have already shown interest in your business, making your ads more relevant and effective. Custom audiences are commonly used for remarketing, upselling, or reconnecting with past customers.


Connecting Your SlickText And Meta Accounts

Before you can manage your Instagram or Facebook audience using Workflows in SlickText, you’ll need to permit SlickText to access your Meta account. Here’s how:

  1. From the Dashboard, click on your name in the bottom left corner and choose Settings
  2. On the Settings page, click on Integrations.
  3. Scroll through the list of integrations and click on Meta.
  4. In the top right corner of the page, click the Install button, then click Install again to confirm.
  5. You’ll be redirected to Facebook to sign into your account.
  6. Choose the Businesses you want SlickText to access and click the Continue button
    1. Opt in to all current and future Businesses
    2. Opt in to current Businesses only
  7. Review the access request details and click the Save button
  8. Click the Got it button on the confirmation page
  9. You’ll be redirected back to SlickText and see a confirmation message that the installation was successful. Click the Close button to close the popup.
  10. On the Integration Settings page, select one or more businesses in the Ad Account field. Only selected businesses will be visible when using the Meta workflow objects.
  11. Click the Save button.

Note:

Meta requires that all integrations reauthorize every couple months to remain active. You’ll receive a few notifications before your account must be reauthorized. A blue dialogue box at the top of the integrations settings page will show the exact date your authorization will expire.

 

Using the Add Contact to Audience Object in Workflows

Once the integration is installed, you can utilize the Add Contact to Audience Object in Workflows to add contacts to Meta custom audiences. If you are not familiar with how to create a workflow, check out our article Getting Started with Workflows.

To add the Add Contact to Audience object to a workflow:

  1. From the left-hand navigation menu in SlickText, select Workflows
  2. Choose the workflow you want to edit, or click Create Workflow to create a new workflow.
  3. Under Build, select the Actions tab to reveal the list of Action objects.
  4. Scroll down until you find the Add Contact to Audience object and drag it over onto your workflow canvas.
  5. Connect another object to the Add Contact to Audience object
  6. Once you have added the object to your workflow, click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the object.
  7. Choose the Meta ad account and custom audience you want to add contacts to.
  8. Click Save.

Using the Remove Contact from Audience Object in Workflows

Once the integration is installed, you can utilize the Remove Contact From Audience Object in Workflows to remove contacts from Meta custom audiences. If you are not familiar with how to create a workflow, check out our article Getting Started with Workflows.

To add the Add Contact to Audience object to a workflow:

  1. From the left-hand navigation menu in SlickText, select Workflows
  2. Choose the workflow you want to edit, or click Create Workflow to create a new workflow.
  3. Under [2] Build, select the Actions tab to reveal the list of Action objects.
  4. Scroll down until you find the Remove Contact From Audience object and drag it over onto your workflow canvas.
  5. Connect another object to the Remove Contact From Audience object
  6. Once you have added the object to your workflow, click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the object.
  7. Choose the Meta ad account and custom audience you want to remove contacts from.
  8. Click Save.
