Before We Begin
Integrating SlickText and Campaign Monitor requires you to have an account with both platforms. It’s also important to note that SlickText has a minimum contact requirement of a mobile phone number, while Campaign Monitor requires an email address. To sync contacts from SlickText to Campaign Monitor, you must first ensure that your contacts in SlickText have an associated email address.
Note:
Field updates in Campaign Monitor do not push back to SlickText.
Connecting Your SlickText and Campaign Monitor Accounts
Before you can sync contacts from your SlickText account to your Campaign Monitor account, you’ll need to give SlickText permission to access your Campaign Monitor account. Here’s how:
- From the Dashboard, click on your name in the bottom left corner and choose Settings.
- On the Settings page, click on Integrations.
- Scroll through the list of integrations and click on Campaign Monitor.
- Click the Install button at the top right corner of the page, then click Install again to confirm.
- If you have an active session with Campaign Monitor in your browser, you will be prompted to authorize SlickText to access your Campaign Monitor account. Click “Yes”. If not, you will be prompted to log in to Campaign Monitor to complete the authorization.
- If the integration installation is successful, you’ll automatically return to SlickText to configure the integration settings.
Contact Behavior
This integration offers two options for contact behavior:
1. Create new contacts and update existing ones in Campaign Monitor: When a new contact is created in SlickText containing an email address, a new contact will be created in Campaign Monitor. When changes are made to contact fields in SlickText that sync with Campaign Monitor, those changes will overwrite the contact’s existing data in Campaign Monitor
Note:
When an email address is added to an existing contact in SlickText, Campaign Monitor will create a new contact since that contact meets Campaign Monitor’s requirement.
2. Update existing Campaign Monitor contacts only: When changes are made to contact fields in SlickText that sync with Campaign Monitor, they will overwrite the contact’s existing data in Campaign Monitor. New contacts created in SlickText will not sync with Campaign Monitor.
Note:
Changing a contact’s email address in SlickText will create a new contact in Campaign Monitor with identical data except for the new email address.
Choosing Campaign Monitor List
Choose the Campaign Monitor List with which you want SlickText to sync. If you don’t see the list you’re looking for, you can search for it or click Refresh Lists to force a reload and see newly created or renamed lists.
Syncing Contact Data from SlickText to Campaign Monitor
Once you have the integration installed, SlickText will automatically map the following fields to GetResponse if the fields are populated with data in SlickText:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Mobile Number
Note:
If you wish to map a SlickText Field to a different Campaign Monitor Field, you can select a different field.
After you click Save, these SlickText fields will start syncing with Campaign Monitor.
Syncing Additional Contact Fields
In addition to syncing the default SlickText fields that automatically map to Campaign Monitor, you can sync more contact fields, including Custom Fields you create in SlickText. To sync additional contact fields:
- Click +Add Contact Field.
- Select a SlickText field.
- Select the Campaign Monitor Field you want to sync with it.
If you don’t see a field you need to sync in SlickText:
- Open up another browser tab and create a Custom Field.
- Go back to your Campaign Monitor integration settings and click Refresh Fields.
- Select the new custom field and the GetResponse field you want to sync.
If you don’t see a field you need to sync in Campaign Monitor, contact the Campaign Monitor support team for assistance.
