Before We Begin
Integrating SlickText and AWeber requires you to have an account with both platforms. It’s important to note that SlickText has a minimum contact requirement of a mobile phone number, while AWeber requires an email address. In order to sync contacts from SlickText to AWeber, you must first ensure that your contacts in SlickText have an associated email address.
Note:
Field updates in AWeber do not push back to SlickText.
Connecting your SlickText and AWeber Accounts
Before you can sync contacts from SlickText to your AWeber account, you’ll need to give SlickText permission to access your AWeber account. Here’s how:
- From the Dashboard, click on your name in the bottom left corner and choose Settings.
- On the Settings page, click on Integrations.
- Scroll through the list of integrations and click on AWeber.
- In the top right corner of the page, click the Install button, then click Install again to confirm.
- If you have an active session with AWeber in your browser, you will be prompted to authorize SlickText to access your AWeber account. Click “Yes.” If not, you will be prompted to log in to AWeber to complete the authorization.
- If the integration installation is successful, you’ll be brought back to SlickText to configure the integration settings.
Contact Behavior
This integration offers two options for contact behavior:
- Create new contacts and update existing ones in AWeber: When a new contact is created in SlickText containing an email address, a new contact will be created in AWeber. When changes are made to contact fields in SlickText that sync with AWeber, those changes will overwrite the contact’s existing data in AWeber.
Note:
When an email address is added to an existing contact in SlickText, AWeber will create a new contact since that contact now meets AWeber’s minimum requirement. Changing a contact’s email address in SlickText will create a new contact in AWeber with identical data except for the new email address.
- Update existing AWeber contacts only: When changes are made to contact fields in SlickText that sync with AWeber, those changes will overwrite the contact’s existing data in AWeber. New contacts created in SlickText will not sync with AWeber.
- Don’t do anything: When changes are made to contact fields in SlickText, nothing happens in AWeber.
Choosing an AWeber List
Choose the AWeber List you want SlickText to sync with. If you don’t see the list you’re looking for, you can search for it or click Refresh Lists to force a reload and see newly created or renamed lists.
Syncing Contact Data from SlickText to AWeber
Once you have the integration installed, SlickText will automatically map the following fields to AWeber if the fields are populated with data in SlickText:
- First Name
- Last Name
Note:
If you wish to map a SlickText Field to a different AWeber Field, you can select a different field.
After you click Save, these SlickText fields will start syncing with AWeber.
Syncing Additional Contact Fields
In addition to syncing the default SlickText fields that automatically map to AWeber fields, you can sync more contact fields, including Custom Fields you create in SlickText. To sync additional contact fields:
- Click +Add Contact Field.
- Select a SlickText field.
- Select the AWeber field you want to sync with it.
If you don’t see a field you need to sync in SlickText:
- Open up another browser tab and create a Custom Field.
- Go back to your AWeber integration settings in SlickText and click Refresh Fields.
- Select the new custom field and the AWeber field you want to sync it to.
If you don’t see a field you need to sync in AWeber, contact the AWeber support team for assistance.
