[Developer Documentation](https://help.slicktext.com/developer-documentation) # Use the SlickText API and Webhooks to Connect Your Application with SlickText The SlickText API allows you to connect SlickText with other applications and systems. You can use API keys to authenticate API requests and webhooks to send SlickText event data to another application. For additional technical information, [click here to view our API Documentation.](https://api.slicktext.com/docs/v2/overview) To find Your API and Webhook Settings: 1. From the **Home** page, click your name in the bottom left corner, then choose **Settings**. 2. Click **API & Webhooks**. 3. Choose: - **API Keys** to create and manage API keys. - **Webhooks** to create and manage webhooks. In this article: [Create and Manage API Keys](https://help.slicktext.com/api-docs#apikeys) [Create and Manage Webhooks](https://help.slicktext.com/api-docs#webhook)   ### **Create and Manage API Keys** You can create up to 10 unique API keys per brand in SlickText for use with various applications or integrations. For security, SlickText does not display your API key again after it is created. If you may need to access it in the future, save it in a secrets manager or password manager immediately after creating it. To create an API key: 1. Click **API Keys**, then click **Create an API Key**. 2. Enter a name for your API key. 3. SlickText will generate a unique API key and confirm that the key was created. 4. Click **Copy Key** to copy the API key, then paste it into the application or system you’re connecting to SlickText. 5. Once you’ve copied the key, close the pop-up. **Note:** For security, your full API key is only displayed when it is first created. Once you close the confirmation pop-up, you will not be able to view or copy the full key again. If you need the API key again and no longer have a copy of it, you’ll need to create a new API key. **Manage Your API Keys** After an API key is created, it will appear on the **API Keys** page. From here, you can see: - The name of the API key - When it was created and who created it - Whether the key is active - A masked version of the key - Information about the key’s most recent request, including the date, IP address, and user agent For security, the full API key cannot be viewed or copied from this page. To manage an existing key, click the **three-dot menu** next to it. From there, you can **deactivate** or **delete** the API key. If you need to use an API key in another application and no longer have the original key, click **Create an API Key** to generate a new one. ### **Create and Manage Webhooks** Webhooks allow SlickText to send information to another application when selected events occur. To create a new webhook: 1. Click **Webhooks**, then click **Create a Webhook**. 2. Enter a **Name** for the webhook. 3. Enter a **Description** to help identify what the webhook is used for. 4. Enter the **URL** where SlickText should send webhook events. 5. Choose whether the webhook should be **Active**. 6. Under **Events**, select the events you want the webhook to subscribe to. You can select individual events, an entire category, or click **Select All**. 7. Click **Save**. When you save the webhook, SlickText will automatically generate a **Secret** for it. **Select Webhook Events** Webhook events determine which activity in SlickText will cause information to be sent to your webhook URL. Available events include: - **Audience** - Contact Created - Contact Updated - Contact Deleted - **Campaigns** - Campaign Sent - Campaign Failed - **Inbox** - Inbox Message Received - Inbox Conversation Status Changed - Inbox Conversation Assignee Changed - Inbox Conversation Tags Changed   **Manage Your Webhooks** After a webhook is created, it will appear on the **Webhooks** page. From here, you can see: - The webhook name and description - When it was last saved - How many events the webhook is subscribed to - Whether the webhook is active or inactive You can also use the search bar to find a webhook. To manage an existing webhook, click the **three-dot menu** next to it.
